Quick start for install Miko PBX

This manual will help you to get the MikoPBX up and running as quickly as possible. Follow the instructions step-by-step in the order in which they are presented.

Step 1. Miko PBX installation

Pay attention!
Before the Miko PBX installation surely study system requirements!

Miko PBX - the full operating system for your equipment, is not the separate program. It is delivered in the form of an image (*.iso, *.img).

Several options of the MikoPBX installation are possible. Select for yourself the most suitable option of installation:

  • The Miko PBX installation with a CD disk on separately dedicated server. The PC should support loading with CD. Installation instructions.

  • The Miko PBX installation with USB on separately dedicated server. The PC should support loading with USB.Installation instructions.

  • Start of Miko PBX with a boot USB disk. When loading with USB all changes in a configuration work before the first reset. The PC should support loading with USB. Installation instructions.

  • The Miko PBX installation on the virtual machine. Installation instructions.

Step 2. Connection of a disk for storage

After the Miko PBX installation be convinced that you connected a disk for storage of records of a talk. For this purpose we will perform the following operations:

  • Enter from the keyboard digit 6 and click “ Enter ” to start installation.


  • Enter the name of a disk for connection (for our example, sdb) and click Enter .

Disks more than 1024 MB in size will be included in the selection list for Storage.
Pay attention! The system disk on which Miko (in our example the disk sda) is set only if it the size exceeds 600 MB can act as a disk for storage of records of a talk. Otherwise to connect a system disk for storage of records of a talk it will not turn out.

The disk is successfully connected! At repeated attempt to connect a disk for storage of records of a talk the notification that the disk is already mounted will be output.

Step 3. The first start of Miko PBX!

After the successful Miko PBX installation it is necessary to pass to its settings in the web interface . Follow to instructions for implementation of the first start of Miko PBX in the web interface.

Step 4. Setup of the network interface

For stable work of Miko PBX it is necessary to configure network through the section Network and Firewall Network interfaces .
Perform setup according to the instruction.

Step 5. Licensing setup

To work with Miko PBX, it is necessary to make settings in the system of licensing. Without license work of Miko PBX is impossible.
Perform setup according to the instruction.

Step 6. Setup of the network screen

In Miko PBX all local subnets it is possible to describe in the section Network and Firewall the Network screen . The network screen is intended for access restriction to the station as traffic and to subnets.
Perform setup according to the instruction.

Step 7. Fail2ban setup

Fail2ban blocks the IP addresses with non-standard activity, it is capable to reduce the speed of unsuccessful attempts of authentication, allows to protect your Miko PBX from cracking.
Perform setup according to the instruction.

Step 8. Setup of accounts of employees

At this stage we create accounts for extensions of employees. Follow to these instructions for creation of the list of extensions.

Step 9. Connection of providers

For connection of provider in Miko PBX follow instructions.

Step 10. Routing setup

At this stage it is necessary to set rules of routing of the entering and outgoing calls as the calls going through a certain provider will be processed.
